Rev. Kym Lucas:

Greetings, beloved in Christ. I hope that you are well on this day. It has been an exciting week here in the Episcopal Church of Colorado, exciting and bittersweet. This past weekend, one of our own, the Reverend Jeremiah Williamson, was elected as bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Albany. I am so excited for the Diocese of Albany and so excited for Jeremiah as he takes this next faithful step in his ministry. Jeremiah has amazing gifts around reconciliation and bringing people together, and I know that the Diocese of Albany will benefit from those gifts. It is bittersweet for me because Jeremiah has been a faithful member of the Episcopal Church of Colorado. He has served not only his congregation, Grace and St. Stephen’s, he served the region, he served the diocese at large, and he served the wider Episcopal church all as part of his ministry. I am excited for him as he takes this next step in his life of faith.

I ask your prayers for him and for his wife, Jen, and for their two boys as they transition. I ask your prayers for Grace and St. Stephen’s as it is a bittersweet time for them as well. And I ask if you are willing, to please contribute to a diocesan gift to Jeremiah for his consecration. There’s a lot of time between now and February when he will be consecrated. But I invite you, if you’d like to, please send a gift to the Office of the Bishop and write in the memo, Jeremiah Williamson, so that we might present a gift from the Episcopal Church of Colorado to him in thanksgiving for his ministry. And please, above all, hold him in your prayers. Blessings.
