Quest FAQs

Where can I find a packing list?

Bedding and towels are provided by Frontier Ranch. Check out the Quest Packing List to see what personal items you need to bring.

How many adults do I need to bring?

Each church must bring one male chaperone for each 1-6 boys and one female chaperone for each 1-6 girls. Bringing 4 boys and 7 girls? You must bring one male chaperone and two female chaperones.

What do I do if I’m having trouble finding adult sponsors?

Serving as an adult sponsor  is a wonderful experience. Seek out individuals in you parish who care deeply about youth ministry. They could be parents, young adults just out of college, empty-nesters, or retired individuals.

Churches having difficulty recruiting volunteers should reach out to other churches attending Quest to see if they can combine groups and share volunteers. For example, let’s say you have 3 boys and 2 girls attending, but only have an adult sponsor for the boys. See if you can find a church with a female sponsor willing to supervise two more girls.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely!

Do I have to be Episcopalian to attend?

Quest is appropriate for any youth interested in exploring the Christian faith. While certain elements are distinctly Episcopalian (e.g., Sunday Eucharist), the event is designed to be a welcoming, safe place for all kids to explore, celebrate, and ask questions..

Can we bring kids younger than the 6th grade?

Quest is a youth retreat for middle and high school students so we ask that participants be in the 6th grade or older.

Do we need to eat dinner before we get there?

Great question! Yes, please eat dinner before arriving at Quest. Some groups like to stop on the way, others bring packed dinners and eat in the car.

What time does Quest start and when does it end?

Check-in is between 6 and 8 pm on Friday. Activities start shortly after 8. The event closes around noon on Sunday and box lunches will be available for all participants.

Where do we go when we get there?

Once your group has received its check-in packet, find your cabins. The check-in packet includes:

  • Name tags
  • Cabin assignments
  • Weekend schedule for each participant (fold them and put them in the back of the name tag holders)
  • Campus map
