Kaudie McLean grew up in the Presbyterian tradition, attended Episcopal schools, and is now a member of the United Church of Christ. She completed her interfaith spiritual direction certification at the Hesychia School of Spiritual Direction in Tucson and also holds a PhD in theology from Yale University. About the Rev. Christy Shain-Hendricks

Accompanying another…walking alongside another…companioning another along the byways of daily life have been a part of my journey for as long as I can remember and helped ready my heart and soul for the gift and discipline of spiritual direction. Being accompanied by the ever-present grace of God opened the way; a way of being held in love and prayer that both called forth and supported exploration into deeper interior spaces and discernment of vocation. The power, challenge and joy of spiritual direction was an early and holy taste of profound longing – Divine longing – for all people as well as my own longing to be present with another in the midst of life’s journey.

The Rev. Christy Shain-Hendricks is a retired Episcopal priest living in Salida, Colorado with her husband of forty-five years, the mother of three, and grandmother to five. Christy has served a variety of congregations in the Diocese of Colorado as well as serving as Regional Missioner, Congregational Consultant, Intake Officer, and mentor. She has been a spiritual director with individuals and congregations for about thirty years and began her formation as a spiritual director through the Vincentian School of Spiritual Direction in 1993. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Philosophy from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Master of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology with a certificate in Anglican Studies and a double focus on preaching and pastoral care.

Continuing to walk with others in spiritual direction, working part time at Grace Episcopal/United Methodist Church in Buena Vista CO,  Christy is enjoying retirement with her husband. She also loves to cook and bake and share food with others. Most days she can be found walking, painting or riding her e-bike. When not playing with her grandchildren or entertaining guests, Christy also knits, crochets, and reads, reads, and reads some more!
