As we work and pray together, my hope is to not lose sight of the true director that is present in Spirit. As Thomas Merton, a Trappist monk, wrote, Spiritual direction is, in reality, nothing more than a way of leading us to see and obey the real Director — the Holy Spirit hidden in the depths of our soul.

Jesse has served as a church treasurer, vestry member, Bishop’s warden, and a member of the Commission on Ministry. His spiritual journey has led him to the ministry of Spiritual Direction and with his wife, Linda, becoming Benedictine Oblates of Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs. He also practiced Zen Buddhism for ten plus years. He has a lifelong love of nature and the outdoors. Linda and Jesse enjoy hiking in the beautiful Colorado mountains and share a love for spiritual pilgrimages.

Jesse has been journeying with people in the ministry of spiritual director for over a decade. He received his training from Benet Hill Monastery through their Benedictine Spiritual Formation Program (BSFP).  He is currently companioning students studying to become Spiritual Directors through their Global Spiritual Direction Program. He is also a member of Spiritual Directors International and Spiritual Directors of Colorado.

Kaudie McLean grew up in the Presbyterian tradition, attended Episcopal schools, and is now a member of the United Church of Christ. She completed her interfaith spiritual direction certification at the Hesychia School of Spiritual Direction in Tucson and also holds a PhD in theology from Yale University. She has a special place in her heart and practice for those sorting through issues around trauma and draws from her own experiences of trauma for wisdom and compassion in the shared journey of spiritual healing. She is also an artist, writer, editor/writing coach, and instructional designer who uses her pursuits in each area to enrich her path as a spiritual wayfarer, companion, and teacher. In her leisure time, she loves to spend time in nature, hike and camp, make art, exercise, cook, laugh with friends, and lavish her cat with affection.
