Hello, beloved in Christ. Today I am bringing you greetings from beautiful Aspen, Colorado. I am here this week in my mobile office, meeting with clergy and with lay folks and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. Waking up every morning and looking at the beautiful world around me fills me with joy, which leads me to ask you this question, where are you finding joy in your life?
In today’s world, there is so much difficulty. There is much to be anxious about. There are so many things in our world that stress us out. And as people of faith, we are called to cultivate joy. Joy is a gift of the Spirit. Joy is not a denial of difficulty, but it is a response to gratitude, to all of the gifts and blessings that God gives us every single day, to the hope and to the courage that the Holy Spirit gives us to face the challenges in our world.
Joy is something that each of us are called to seek and to cultivate and to share with those around us. And so I encourage you this day, find the things that give you joy and share that joy with everyone around you. Blessings.
