Greetings, beloved in Christ. I hope that you are well today. It is August, and that means all over Colorado and all over our nation, students will be returning to school. To that end, I am asking your prayers, asking your prayers for students, for teachers, for counselors, for administrators, for all those who do their level best to make every school year a successful experience for every student.

I also ask that you consider making a donation of funds, gift cards, or school supplies to a teacher in your community or to a local school. You can make those donations as individuals, as congregations, or as friend groups who understand the sacrifice that public school teachers make. So many public school teachers spend out of their own funds to make their classrooms engaging and enriching, and they do this because they recognize that what they do is important. They recognize that teaching is a calling and they want to bring their best to their students.

With decreasing funding and education, this gets more and more burdensome for our public school teachers. And so I invite you to help support them, support them with a donation, a gift of your resources. Do it because you value education. Do it out of gratitude for those teachers and counselors and administrators who helped you when you were a student. Do it because what we give in Christ’s name to help others is giving to Christ Himself.

Pray for our students, teachers, counselors, and administrators. Pray that they have a blessed, safe, and amazing school year.
