Bishop Kym Lucas:
Greetings, beloved in Christ, I hope that you are well on this day. Today, I am very excited to introduce you to the newest member of the Office of the Bishop staff, the Reverend Deacon Sarah Bjornebo. Welcome, Sarah. We are so glad to have you.
Canon Sarah Bjornebo:
Thank you. I am so happy to be here.
Bishop Kym Lucas:
So Sarah is joining our team. She is two days in. And I’m curious in these two days, what are you excited about?
Canon Sarah Bjornebo:
I’m excited to be here. I’m excited to meet the people of the Episcopal Church of Colorado and to get to know your ministries.
Bishop Kym Lucas:
So here in the Episcopal Church in Colorado, we are really raising up the ministry of the diaconate, and I’m excited that you are a deacon. And I’m curious, what about your role as deacon do you think will inform the work that you’re doing as canon for mission and engagement?
Canon Sarah Bjornebo:
As deacons, we look to serve, and we look to be the bridge that connects the world to our ministries. And I will be looking for those opportunities and ways that I can be a service to each and every one of you and to be a bridge in this work.
Bishop Kym Lucas:
So many of you folks who are coming to our annual convention will be meeting Sarah there, and she will be traveling with me from time to time and getting to know the Episcopal Church in Colorado. We are thrilled that she is here serving with us, and we look forward to all of us getting to meet you and getting to know your gifts.
Canon Sarah Bjornebo:
I am honored to be here. Thank you.
Bishop Kym Lucas:
Blessings.
