Annual Convention 2026 Workshop Proposal

  • A Call for Workshop Proposals for the 2026 Annual Convention - "The Race That Is Set Before Us"
This year, the Episcopal Church in Colorado will host online workshops on Saturday, October 3, 2026, the weekend prior to the Annual Convention gathering in Westminster.

We are now seeking proposals for workshops that focus on ways we can expand and deepen our work to be bearers of justice and hope in our communities. Colorado congregations are already engaged in important justice ministries. The question before us is: How can we mobilize, encourage, inspire, and support them as they continue this work? One image that resonates is that this work is a marathon, not a sprint. Training for a marathon doesn't begin with running 26 miles. It starts with small, manageable stepsโ€”short runs that gradually build endurance over time. Just as important, successful training includes nourishment, rest, and recoveryโ€”not simply constant running. The same is true for the long-term work of justice, reconciliation, and community engagement. Workshops that explore our theme of โ€œThe Race That Is Set Before Us" will be the focus of our pre-convention time together on Saturday, October 3.

All workshops will be 1 hour in length, including time for interaction and engagement of the material presented with online participants. Submit your workshop proposal of 200 words or less to the Rev. Canon Greg Foraker by August 19, 2026.
