As we work and pray together, my hope is to not lose sight of the true director that is present in Spirit. As Thomas Merton, a Trappist monk, wrote, Spiritual direction is, in reality, nothing more than a way of leading us to see and obey the real Director — the Holy Spirit hidden in the depths of our soul.
Jesse has served as a church treasurer, vestry member, Bishop's warden, and a member of the Commission on Ministry. His spiritual journey has led him to the ministry of Spiritual Direction and with his wife, Linda, becoming Benedictine Oblates of Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs. He also practiced Zen Buddhism for ten plus years. He has a lifelong love of nature and the outdoors. Linda and Jesse enjoy hiking in the beautiful Colorado mountains and share a love for spiritual pilgrimages.
Jesse has been journeying with people in the ministry of spiritual director for over a decade. He received his training from Benet Hill Monastery through their Benedictine Spiritual Formation Program (BSFP). He is currently companioning students studying to become Spiritual Directors through their Global Spiritual Direction Program. He is also a member of Spiritual Directors International and Spiritual Directors of Colorado.
Michelle is a native of Yorkshire, England. She left a career in teaching high school physics to raise her family of four children for more than twenty years. The family moved to USA in 1983, and in 1997 she was widowed. Following a call to the priesthood she completed an M.Div, in 2002 in Denver followed by a certificate in Christian Spirituality at GTS in New York. While in NYC Michelle served as a priest and parish spiritual director to a large parish. It was during this time that she realized that for her to best serve the future of the changing church, she would serve as a non-traditional priest. She is a sought after supply priest, spiritual director, retreat and workshop leader. Michelle is a Reiki II practitioner, is trained as both a labyrinth and SoulCollage® facilitator. She is also a presenter for centering prayer, and has a passion for teaching the enneagram. She recently walked the camino in Spain, co-led a pilgrimage to Iona, and spent a week at Auschwitz with the Zen Peacemakers on their annual Bearing Witness retreat. She loves Celtic Christianity and has a passion for the Mystics. She has been on the faculty of the Benedictine Spiritual Formation Program and has served as adjunct faculty at Naropa, a Buddhist University in Boulder. She has served six years on Spiritual Direction Colorado,(SDCO) and has served as Chaplain to various organizations, including the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Colorado, Colorado DOK, and currently serves as chaplain to all of the executive assistants to the episcopal bishops nationwide. Michelle has re-married and is the proud mother of four adult children, and five grandchildren. She lives near Boulder, Colorado, and enjoys, Meditation, Yoga, Hiking, Camping, Reading, and spending time with family and friends. Kaudie McLean grew up in the Presbyterian tradition, attended Episcopal schools, and is now a member of the United Church of Christ. She completed her interfaith spiritual direction certification at the Hesychia School of Spiritual Direction in Tucson and also holds a PhD in theology from Yale University. She has a special place in her heart and practice for those sorting through issues around trauma and draws from her own experiences of trauma for wisdom and compassion in the shared journey of spiritual healing. She was a live-in caregiver for her mother and appreciates the complexity of that journey as well. She is also an artist, writer, editor/writing coach, and instructional designer who uses her pursuits in each area to enrich her path as a spiritual wayfarer, companion, and teacher. In her leisure time, she loves to spend time in nature, hike and camp, make art, exercise, cook, laugh with friends, and lavish her cat with affection.
