St. Brigit Episcopal Church is proud to announce the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Brigit's Village, an intergenerational affordable housing development thathas been more than a decade in the making. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, August 26, at 10:30 am, at 131 Aspen Drive in Frederick, Colorado.

In 2014, members of St. Brigit Episcopal Church began pursuing a vision to address the critical need for affordable housing in the Carbon Valley. With perseverance, community partnerships, and the support of public and private funders, that vision has now become reality. Built on land formerly owned by the parish, Brigit's Village is the first affordable rental housing constructed in Carbon Valley in 25 years.

The $20.2 million project provides 40 affordable rental units designed to foster intergenerational community, bringing families and seniors together to support one another. The complex includes 22 one-bedroom, 15 two-bedroom, and 3 three-bedroom apartments. Management will be provided by BlueLine Property Management, a Montana-based company with extensive experience in affordable housing across Colorado.

The development was made possible through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits from the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, as well as funding from the Colorado Division of Housing, Weld County, and the Town of Frederick. Construction began in June 2024.

The grand opening ceremony will feature remarks by Alison George, Division Director of the Colorado Division of Housing; Kathryn Grosscup of the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority; Vincent Ornelas, Executive Director of the Greeley-Weld Housing Authority; and Tracie Crites, Mayor of Frederick, Colorado, alongside leaders from St. Brigit Episcopal Church.
