Fall 2025 Edition: "Outreach as an Offering"

In the spirit of giving, we recognize that outreach is more than just an act of charityโ€”it is a sacred offering, a way we extend God's love and grace into the world. When we serve others, we are offering ourselves to God, reflecting His boundless compassion and mercy. Whether it's through feeding the hungry, comforting the lonely, or standing in solidarity with the marginalized, our outreach efforts are acts of worship that transform both those who give and those who receive.ย As the Apostle Paul reminds us: "Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." (Romans 12:1, NRSV).ย This edition of The Colorado Episcopalian invites us to explore how our outreach becomes an offering, embodying the love and generosity of Christ. Let us come together as a community, offering our time, talents, and resources to build a more just and loving world.

Spring 2025 Edition: "The Gospel in Action: Defining and Living Gospel Justice"

The theme of this spring's Colorado Episcopalian magazine, "The Gospel in Action: Defining and Living Gospel Justice," invites us to reflect on how Jesus' teachings shape our understanding of justice, mercy, and compassion. Rooted in Episcopal values, it challenges us to address issues like poverty, racial inequity, environmental stewardship, and political division through faith-driven action. This edition explores how Gospel justice moves us from belief to discipleship, highlighting stories of Episcopalians living out their faith to transform their communities.

Issues are designed thematically and pre-planned within the Office of the Bishop staff. We welcome submissions; articles and updates may be utilized in the Colorado Episcopalian, or may be used in other publications. Articles that will be considered will reflect the theme for the upcoming edition.

Parishes and their ministries as well as diocesan institutions may submit articles for consideration. If you have story ideas or a submission for consideration, please email Mike@EpiscopalColorado.org.

Deadlines for Submissions:

  • Fall 2026 edition, Deadline for Articles is September 1, 2026 โ€“ "Together on the Threshold: Being Church in a Changing World"
The Church stands on many thresholdsโ€”between tradition and innovation, comfort and courage, sorrow and hope. On these edges, Christ meets us and invites us to step faithfully into the unknown, trusting that God is already at work ahead of us. As the world around us shifts culturally, socially, and environmentally, our mission is to be present at these crossings with grace, hospitality, and bold love. This edition of the Colorado Episcopalian explores how congregations across Colorado are discerning God's movement at the margins, welcoming the stranger, building bridges across divides, and embracing the call to be church in new ways. Echoing the promise of Isaiahโ€”"See, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?" (Isaiah 43:19)โ€”we reflect on how the Holy Spirit leads us across thresholds not alone, but together.
