- Paris in the Time of War, with organist David Vogels, Sunday, February 23, 4:00 pm, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1419 Pine St., Boulder CO, 80302. The St. John’s Music Society is happy to present this organ program built around works written adjacent to the Second World War in Paris. This performance includes a complete rendition of Messiaen’s Les Corp Glorieux. Additionally, Vogels will perform Jehan Alain’s Three Dances, and Maurice Duruflé’s Prelude and Fugue on the Name of Alain. This performance is free and open to all. - The Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra, Saturday, March 8, 7:00 – 9:00 pm, at First Unitarian Society of Denver, 1400 N. Lafayette Street, Denver. The Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra is a five-piece chamber ensemble (piano, violin, cello, clarinet, and cornet) that revives the repertoire of silent film orchestras. Using historic libraries of music, and selecting and fitting a piece of music for each scene in the film. A portion of the proceeds from this concert will benefit Colorado Puppy Rescue, a no-kill rescue dedicated to saving young puppies and their mamas. Tickets: $20.
