Dear friends and families of Cathedral Ridge,

As Colorado shifts from a stay-at-home to safer-at-home response to COVID-19, Cathedral Ridge will prepare to safely and gradually resume operations. Please know that the physical health of our staff and guests is our highest priority.

Summer camp requires months of dedicated planning and training to ensure that a memorable experience is had by all.  Given the most current information available, after consulting with each camp director, I am sad to announce the cancellation of our 2020 camp sessions: Cathedral Camp, Wizards Camp, Cosmos Camp, Journey Camp, and Grown-Ups Camp. We will miss the laughter, shining faces, and joy that every camper brings to Cathedral Ridge.

We have made this decision out of an abundance of caution and a deep desire to love the best way we know how, by maintaining physical distancing. We also acknowledge our grief, because our greatest joy and core purpose is to provide sacred space for people to gather and connect with God and one another.

The economic cost and anxiety of this crisis is real. We are prepared to fully refund your registration. If you are able to donate all or a portion of the fees, it will allow a stipend for the young adults hired as summer camp counselors. Please reply to this email by May 1 and I will act accordingly. I also invite any input about “virtual camp” online gatherings or “camp in a box” mailed as a summer activity for your child.

If there is anything I can do to make this loss easier, please be in touch. Your clergy and youth leaders also know how much camp means to your children, and how difficult this decision was.

Please keep us in your prayers and know that you are in ours.

Kim Seidman
Vicar and Executive Director of Cathedral Ridge
