Journey Into Faith

Welcoming New Members and Renewing Your Faith Community

March 2 – 4, 2018
Christ the King Episcopal Church, Arvada, CO

In the early Church, disciples of Jesus were formed in the Christian way through an intensive ap- prenticeship in faith. Through scripture study, common worship and acts of charity and mercy, inquirers where introduced into a way of living that demonstrated the marks of a Christian.Today, many of the people who come to our churches have little or no idea of what it means to live as a Christian. This weekend will introduce you to a process* of incorporating new people into your parish while also renewing those who help to guide them, a process that helps people to give meaning to their own lives and form authentic community with others.

  • During our time together, you will experience and learn how to lead:
  • Bible study that invites open and honest conversation.
  • Worship and ritual that is both personal and communal. A process that lays the groundwork for ongoing growth and renewal.

And you’ll meet people who share your passion for inviting others into deeper faithBring a team from your congregation, clergy and lay, to learn about Journey into Faith and bringing others to Christian discipleship while deepening the faith practices of your congregation. Your registration includes all training materials, meals on Saturday, and snacks.*This approach to forming Christians is a modern version of an ancient process known as the catechumenate. Leadership for this event will include a former pastor and current members of Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church in Seattle, where this process has formed disciples and transformed the congregation for over 25 years. For more information about this process, contact The Rev. Bev Piro (
